About

My name is Gustaf Boman. I am a movie director, cinematographer, and photographer from Sweden, living in New York, USA.

I found my passion for film and photography during my teens. I studied The Artistic Program through high school with a focus on filmmaking.

During these years, I produced and directed several short projects. One was a short documentary, "Bara jag (Only Me)," that won the best film award at the "Angeläget Film Festival" (a film festival focused on short documentaries) in 2014.

After high school, I worked on several TV and film productions for some of Sweden's biggest Production companies. Parallel to this, I produced a short film, "Itu (In Two)."

Eventually, I expanded my filmmaking knowledge and spent two years at the New York Film Academy in New York City.

One year for every aspect of moviemaking with a focus on Cinematic directing and one for cinematography that introduced me to the full range of technical understanding needed in filmmaking.

While there, I gained additional experience working on more than 70 films in various positions, from Director, Cinematographer, Producer, AD, AC, Gaffer, Grip, Sound Mixer, and more.
